You can edit the contact information of a friend you've added as long as they have not yet claimed the account by logging in. Once an account is claimed, only the owner can update their name, email address, or phone number.
On the mobile app:
- Tap the Friends tab.
- Tap the name of the friend you would like to edit.
- Tap the gear icon in the top right corner.
- Tap "No, edit contact info".
On the web app (www.splitwise.com):
- Click the friend's name in the left-hand sidebar.
- Click the gear icon in the top right corner.
- Click "Edit friend info."
- Enter the updated information and click "Save changes."
If the account has already been claimed and your friend needs to update their contact information, they can do so from their own account settings, or they can reach out to us at support@splitwise.com and we can help.
