Splitwise offers a few payment options that move real money in supported countries. Get started by tapping 'Settle Up' in the relevant group or friendship.
In the US, you can transfer money using our in-app payment option, Splitwise Pay. You can also settle up using our third-party integrations, Venmo and PayPal. Please note that settling up with Venmo requires a USD balance and the Venmo app to be installed and logged in on your device.
In select European countries, you can use Pay by Bank to make bank-to-bank transfers. To get started, tap "Enable Pay by Bank' on your Account tab. Only personal checking account connections are supported; we do not support connecting cards, multi-currency accounts, or savings accounts. Payment timelines depend on your bank and cross-currency payments are not supported at this time. For example if you are in the UK, you can use Pay by Bank to settle up with other UK folks in pounds. If you are in Germany, you can pay a friend in France as both countries use euros.

If you’re in a region where these options aren’t available, you can settle up outside Splitwise and use the “Record a payment” option to update your balance in the app. We hope to bring more payment options to Splitwise users around the world.
