Why was I charged via UPI during my free trial?

in Pro

Sorry for the trouble! When a free trial is started using UPI, Apple or Google creates a UPI AutoPay mandate with your bank. Even if the subscription is canceled before the trial ends, the bank may still temporarily process the charge. In most cases, Apple/Google automatically reverses it, but UPI refunds are not instant and can take a few working days to appear in your account.
If you still haven’t seen the charge reversed, we recommend following the steps below:

1. Cancel the UPI AutoPay mandate
  • Open your UPI app
  • Go to Autopay / Mandates
  • Find the mandate for Apple and cancel it
2. Wait for the refund to settle
  • UPI refunds usually take 3–5 working days, and in some cases up to 10 working days
  • The amount should automatically return to your bank account
3. If the refund doesn’t appear after 10 working days
  • Please contact Apple/Google support or
  • Contact your bank/UPI app support with the UPI transaction ID and mention it was a reversed Apple/Google charge
Please note that we don’t directly process UPI payments. All billing and refunds are handled by Apple/Google. When a free trial is canceled, we do not receive any funds for the subscription.
